Kesha Debuts NEW Girl Power Anthem "Woman" & Pens Powerful Essay

More Celebrity News ►► http://bit.ly/SubClevverNews One week after her beautiful, haunting ballad was released, our girl has gifted us with another empowerment anthem. Simply titled ‘Woman”, this new funky single has alllll of us dancing! Like "Praying," the message of "Woman" is one in which Kesha takes full control of her narrative by using her signature killer pop to tell the story of finding her inner strength and beauty. The super fun video includes her driving around in a Cadillac and dancing in a gold lame suit. She actually co-directed the video with her brother Lagan, she knew exactly what she wanted and it was just easier to do it ourselves than try to explain her vision to another director. According to Kesha, recording "Woman" was a huge turning point: She developed the track during a "hilarious," rejuvenating session with her co-writers. The absolute joy and fun she’s having is in the final product, with her breaking down in giggles in the middle of the song. There seems to be a set way she’s releasing her singles off her new album Rainbow – for Praying she penned an essay in Lena Dunham’s Lenny Letter, and “Woman” got the same treatment, with the singer writing an essay about Woman for Rolling Stone magazine. She delves into the fated fay while stuck in traffic when the hook (“I’m a mother fucking woman”) came to her, and why she showed up to the studio and announced to her co-writers: “this is the song we’re writing.” And it’s an important song. She explained”That day in particular I felt like I had earned the right call myself a motherfucking woman. I have always been a feminist, but for much of my life I felt like a little girl trying to figure things out. In the past few years, I have felt like a woman more than ever. I just feel the strength and awesomeness and power of being female. We hold the key to humanity. We decide if we populate the Earth, and if so, with whom. We could just decide not to have any more kids and the human race would be over. That is power. I just really fucking love being a woman and I wanted an anthem for anyone else who wants to yell about being self-sufficient and strong. (Yes, men, this song can be for you.)” Damn girl! Who knew Kesha could write these great pop culture thinkpieces? The energy from this song is infectious and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the week. Maybe you’ll drop another single next Thursday? Please? Well, what do you guys think of the new song? And how glad are you that Kesha’s finally back?
